At Diddlyboo, we are on a mission to provide a supportive and empowering platform for individuals dealing with mental health challenges. We believe that no one should face their journey alone. Through our community, we aim to foster connections, offer support, and inspire hope.
Have somebody who gets you to connect with. They won’t judge you as they will understand. you might not have a job, live with parents, sofa surf or just want someone to connect with. your situation will become irrelevant and no shame in sharing that you suffer a condition.
I came up with the idea from my own personal experiences. The idea is to network with like minded people who share your problem, it doesn’t have to be a lonely one. To be able to network with others who understand would have changed my life when I was in need of someone to talk to who understands. I have a gofund me page to get this up and running. There is nothing like speaking with someone who shares your
condition as even a psychiatrist relies on books to try to understand but it takes one to know one.
I am to develop a website and iPhone App to try to connect people who suffer mental health or care for those who do, from dementia to Asperger’s and every other illness there is. When you sign up you do so as a carer or a service user. Then others who have signed up with the same issue will be connected to you. You can then message or even talk via the app. If you don’t feel up to that you can even play games like chess or connect 4 with your connections. This app is purely to help and no data will ever be shared. I created this app to try to help people. When people are alone and desperate if only they had access to my App it would have made the world of difference. To connect with someone who shares your illness or that of someone you care for is a brilliant experience and I’ll use my diddlyboo too if only to speak to anyone in the same boat as a carer or sufferer. It is very rare unless you go to a group to ever get to connect with people in the same situation as you. Eg No job, living with parents, totally alone, 24 hour carer, desperate all does not matter as those you connect with will understand like no one else could ever. The app cost, after a free trial will be based on levels of interaction required to ensure you are who you are. This is to make the site as secure as possible for users. I will run the site and created the idea. But now it needs funding, publicity and advertising to reach out to people who need it. I have support from both Alastair Campbell and Frank Bruno who are both suffers themselves. Nick Petrie (Founder)
All donations will go to develop and improve the site, app and to publicise it. I have a developer on board who have set up social app and apps for healthcare and banking (so your info will be secure and kept private.
Initially we need to build out a MVP (minimum viable product) first to showcase what the app can do.
Then -
Business model, it will be funded as a (freemium version – free to use but additional features will need subscription)
Then -
Partner with agencies / organisations to test the product and get endorsement / useful feedback – beta testing with audience
Then -
Marketing campaign and launch.
Then -
Initial day to day costs of running and maintaining an app with servers, admin, technical support and hosting etc until a subscription audience has been established.
As you can see, I’ve done my research and have a plan.
If you are looking for a safe and inclusive space to connect with others who understand your experiences and challenges, join Diddlyboo today. Together, we can create a community of support and empowerment. But we need funding to make the dream a reality.
